Information You Submit
A third-party provider receives names, phone numbers, or addresses entered in sponsored search forms. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. When you send us a message, we receive the details you choose to include and use them to answer.
Automatic Technical Data
Standard hosting logs can contain an IP address, browser type, requested pages, and timestamps. Aggregate review helps diagnose faults and measure which pages are used. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may also rely on cookies and similar technology.
How Information Is Used
Technical and message data support site operation, troubleshooting, traffic counts, page improvements, and replies. We neither sell a visitor list nor create individual user profiles.
Privacy Beyond Our Pages
Links lead to Jefferson County and Alabama record portals, Birmingham library collections, archives, and outside search services. Each destination controls data submitted there under its own privacy terms. Sponsored search results are provided by a third party and follow that provider’s policy.
Parties Processing Data
Hosting and support vendors process ordinary server logs on our behalf. Analytics or advertising providers may receive the technical data described above. Information may also be disclosed when valid legal process compels it.
Data Security And Retention
Connections use encryption, and logs are retained only while needed for the stated purposes. Because Birmingham Residents Directory has no user accounts, it keeps no visitor password or account profile.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The service is intended for adults, not children. We do not knowingly collect a minor’s personal information. Contact us if a person under eighteen submitted information so it can be removed.
Your Privacy Choices
Rights to access, correct, or delete website data depend on where a visitor lives. Alabama has no omnibus consumer-deletion or universal data-broker opt-out statute identified in the project research. The Alabama Data Breach Notification Act, Ala. Code §§ 8-38-1 through 8-38-12, governs safeguards and breach notice rather than deletion of source records. We can search our contact mailbox and logs for data tied to a request submitted through the Contact page. Birmingham, Jefferson County, and Alabama public records remain under their custodians’ control, so any correction or lawful removal request must go to that office.
Policy Revisions
A revised policy will appear here. Continued use after publication of a change indicates acceptance of the new version.
